timesample

Timesample is a open ended generative video installation created from found footage of existing movies in an attempt to create a real time clock. A computer vision program has been developed with OpenCV in Processing to detect and capture one second clips of analog clocks. The eventual goal of the project is to collect 24+ hours of footage allowing the clock to display the current local time. Creating such a clock will require the collection of 86,400 individual clock samples.

The project is an open system that will continue to change and grow due to the release of new movies and the continuous addition of past movies into the system.
